There are some wonderful ways that you can become involved as a New Member!
Giving
When we pass the offering plate around on Sunday mornings, we share in the opportunity to support the work of our church. It is all of us working together that makes our church possible.
If you are not able to be in worship, our church offers online giving for your use. We use a popular online company called Vanco Services.
Bible Classes
We have several groups working their way through the Scriptures using a Bible Class from Crossways International. These groups meet one on Friday mornings at 10am and another on Saturday mornings at 10am. We are an interactive group and together we keep the stress of Bible study low! All are welcome to come and check it out.
We have a Bible Study that meets on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of every month. This Bible study looks at the Gospel lesson for the upcoming weekend and we discuss it together. Often times, you may find the discussion points show up in the sermon for that Sunday! Maybe even something that you said, yourself!
Serving for Special Occasions
If you’ve experienced such a loss in your life, you know that a very important ministry in our congregation is serving for special occasions such as a meal following a funeral. At times like this, our church can demonstrate the care and compassion that Jesus calls us to share. Other special occasions might include the Community Thanksgiving Meal that our area churches sponsor, potluck meals, or other. You can help by bringing food, by being a server, by doing both, or by donating money to offset the expenses.
Serving on Sunday Mornings
We have various ways of contributing to worship on Sunday mornings that you are invited to consider.
Acolyte – (Reserved for our confirmation students) Lights the altar candles before the service, helps to distribute communion, runs the video camera during the service, extinguishes the candles after the service.
Communion Assistant – Prepares communion before the service, helps to distribute communion during the service, and puts communion items away afterwards.
Reader – Reads selected scripture readings for the congregation during the service.
Greeter – Stands at the sanctuary entrance to welcome the new faces and the familiar faces alike before worship. Assists with any questions that our first-time worshippers might have.
Usher – Assists during the offering to pass around the offering plate. Guides people forward for communion.
